Alan Webster Consultancies offers its services to health, education, welfare and private sectors and individuals. Dr. Greta Galloway is the clinical director of this consultancy, while Mr. Alan Webster is the administrative director.

Greta Galloway trained as a social worker in the early 1980s. She also undertook family therapy training with Michael White during this period, as both an undergraduate and a professional practitioner. Greta has worked with the South Australian Education Department and the Department of Children’s Services in South Australia prior to moving to South Africa where she worked in a children’s home and Durban Child Welfare before moving to the University of Natal as a lecturer in the Department of Social Work. Greta has been a tenured academic in South Africa and Australia for 18 years.  She has been a social worker for 30 years.  Greta has taught and developed many practice based subjects at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Student and trainee feedback indicate that she is a gifted teacher excelling in helping theory become understandable to practice contexts. She has extensive supervision experience in both academia and in social welfare practice. Greta is an experienced child, family, women’s and couples’ therapist. She has been a team leader of several projects, with the majority focusing on programs directed at working with Indigenous people. Greta has a Masters degree by research and a PhD, both of which focused on racism and its’ intersect with welfare practice. Greta is very excited to be working with Alan Webster Consultancies as a means for meshing her practice and academic expertise in the service of the health, education and welfare sectors.

Alan Webster trained as a teacher of geography and mathematics at Rhodes University, followed by a post graduate diploma in education and then a Masters degree by research in Education at Natal University. He taught geography and mathematics in high schools before moving into lecturing in education at Natal College of Education. Alan then became vice principal of Stanger High School, subsequently becoming the subject adviser in geography for the province of Natal before being promoted to Superintendent (inspector) of Education. He later became Chief Superintendent of Education (Education Management) for the province of Natal. Alan has particular expertise in the professional and academic development of teachers and in the analysis and evaluation of education management systems. He is deeply involved in community and voluntary work. Alan is the administrative director of Alan Webster Consultancies.
